Our Club Member of the Week this week is- Sandi Timmons ! Everyone say hi to Sandy ! I hope you will enjoy getting to know her a little better!
Name: Sandi Timmons
Where are you from and where do you live now?: I am from Jamestown, California and I now live in Sonora, California
What is your favorite project you’ve ever made and why?: I took a class in Sonora to learn how to make a quilt. I did learn and I have kept this quilt but I cannot believe the colors that I bought and used to make this quilt. I have a quilting book and saw a picture of a cat quilt. I started working on this cat quilt only to learn that I did not have enough gray background to finish this quilt. I took the fabric to Twain Harte and was told that she would find that fabric for me but it would take a while. It did – almost 2 years this quilt was on hold for that length of time. Need less to say, I finished the quilt and it was sent to a longsarm quilter. She called me to say that she wanted me to enter this quilt in our Sonora Fair. I did not want to do this but she actually begged make to do it. I did and won lst place!
What color seems to always make its way into your quilts?: I love the color blue and this color does get used a lot in my quilts
Do you do other types of sewing besides quilting? : No I am only just a quilter. This keeps me busy and it is just a hobby for me
Do you have other creative hobbies?: Maybe cooking or reading books and watching Lifetime Movies on TV
What’s your oldest UFO? Any tips on how you keep them from piling up?: The two oldest quilts would be the beginner’s quilt and of course my cat quilt. No because I have piles indeed
What’s your favorite creative outlet?: Probably watching TV, growing produce in the summer and taking care of my 3 cats
Tell us about your family! : My Mom is still alive but she is now living in a care facility. My only sister is here in Sonora also my Dad has since passed
What’s your favorite food? : Pasta, just love Pepsi and Lay’s potato chips
What’s your favorite TV Show or Movie?: Gone with the Wind as well as Lifetime’s Movies
Who’s your favorite fabric designer?: You just cannot really have a favorite fabric designer. All of you are so talented as well as creative
Do you have a favorite collection from The Art of Home Club?: No not yet
Is there anything else you’d like to share??: No there was a lot of answering for me. Need to take a break
