Our Club Member of the Week this week is – Debbie Tibbets ! Everyone say hi to Debbie! I hope you will enjoy getting to know her a little better!
Where are you from and where do you live now?: I am from Beverly, MA and still reside there with my husband.
What is your favorite project you’ve ever made and why?: The first quilt I ever made was for my first grandchild. He was the reason I wanted to get into quilting. I was a sewer before that and used to make my kids clothes and halloween costumes.
What color seems to always make its way into your quilts?: Light and bright colors.
Do you do other types of sewing besides quilting? : I used to make all my kids clothes and their halloween costumes. I have also done curtains and nursery accessories for my grandchildren.
Do you have other creative hobbies?: Knitting and scrapbooking.
What’s your oldest UFO? Any tips on how you keep them from piling up?: My oldest project is a quilt I have that is a block of the month from a local quilt shop. I have finally finished the top and I now have to quilt it and bind it.
What’s your favorite creative outlet?: Quilting
Tell us about your family! : I have been married for 36 years to my husband who I met in college. We have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl, and 4 amazing grandsons. We also have 2 small white dogs, Chloe and Zoe.
What’s your favorite food? : Chicken
What’s your favorite TV Show or Movie?: The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Who’s your favorite fabric designer?: I don’t have one.
Do you have a favorite collection from The Art of Home Club?: No but my favorite project has been the strawberry Block of the Month.
