Our Club Member of the Week this week is- Rebecca Lance ! Everyone say hi to Rebecca ! I hope you will enjoy getting to know her a little better!

Your Name:  Rebecca Lance

At what age did you start sewing/quilting? My grandmother taught me when I was 6.

Who or what inspired you to become a quilter? Both of my grandmothers inspired me to quilt.  My paternal grandmother owned an alteration shop and taught me to help in the shop with alterations and the making of Barbie doll clothes at the age of 6.  My maternal grandmother let me help her sew on her treadle and even help quilt on the quilting frame that hung from the ceiling in my great-grandma’s house.

Do you do other types of sewing besides quilting? (clothing, home décor, etc.)  I also enjoy making clothing.

Do you have other creative hobbies? (cooking, knitting, painting, gardening….)  I enjoy crafting, crocheting, embroidery, cross-stitching, and reading.

If you won a shopping spree to a quilt store, what is the first thing you would splurge on?  FABRIC of course!

Did you name your sewing machine?  I have never named my machines until my newest one.  I got a Janome 9450 when I retired one year ago and named her Betsy.

Tell us about your family (children, grandchildren, fur babies, etc.)  I have four children in their 20’s; three girls and a boy.  My two middle children, both girls are married and I inherited a grandchild with one of the marriages.  I do not own pets, but I do have a husband of 32 years.

Where do you live, and what is your favorite thing about where you live?  I live in Columbus, Ohio; but am a transplant from Arkansas, where we do visit at least three times a year.
